I have always found satisfaction in helping people in tough situations. While living in Montana, I worked at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. I helped facilitate the mandatory DUI education and supported the Director with her community involvement and tacking the huge methamphetamine crisis in the state. I interacted with the patients/students and the court system to help them satisfy their requirements and supported the various Social Workers. It was always interesting to see the patients’ progress. This experience segued nicely into the first position I held at Catawba working for the Chief of Staff, Dr. Yad Jabbarpour, and supporting the Forensic Program/Med Staff operations.
In my current position, I interact primarily with the Directors and Central Office. I track and report a lot of data generated by activities at the facility. I monitor and support the investigations of abuse/neglect, policy operations, quality/risk management standards, software training, and mentor the other Administrative Office Support positions in the hospital. I’m also a member of the Applause Committee (employee morale) and hiking club. It's my job to be involved in various aspects of the hospital and this involvement helps me see systems from a higher level, which help me to identify opportunities for improvement.
